In 2023, Flags of Valor acquired Combat Flags, bringing together two mission-driven brands already dedicated to Stop Soldier Suicide’s cause. Together, we launched a powerful cause marketing campaign on GivingTuesday that made an impact: brand visibility soared, donations to our organization on the national day of giving increased by 215% year-over-year, and more than 200 supporters received exclusive, hand-made Combat Flags patches. This campaign turned a shared mission into measurable momentum, creating lasting awareness and impact for all.
Cause Marketing
Partnering with Flags of Valor & Combat Flags, we launched a bold cause marketing campaign designed to boost engagement on GivingTuesday—a historically low-turnout day for our organization. With a powerful mix of paid social and display ads, as well as direct response appeals to our existing donors, we invited supporters to give $40 or more in exchange for a free Combat Flags patch crafted from duty-worn military uniforms. The impact? A 215% spike in total donations year-over-year, a 131% increase in non-Facebook revenue, and $42,000 raised to drive our mission forward.
